Mother's Day
Since Today is Mother's day, I will start this post off by telling you what a wonderful Mother I have. She taught me so much, and not just because she was my teacher. Most of what I know about life, about being a mother, I learned from my mom, and what I didn't learn from her, I was inspired to learn, by her. Thank you Mom!
Second great thing about being Mother's day is that it gives be time to reflect on just how blessed I truly am. I have the best husband. If it wasn't for Doug, I wouldn't have the opportunity to educate our children and care for them as God has called me to do. I am beyond grateful for him.
Third great thing about Mother's day is it gives me the perfect opportunity to shout from the roof tops how much I love my kids. I never planned on adopting children, I never planned on having so many children, but I am so grateful that God's plans are not stifled by my plans. Being a mom is the best thing I've ever done. It's rewards are neverending, it brings me more Joy than I can handle. It could just be that my kids are some of the most fantastic human beings I've ever known, but that probably only accounts for half of it. The other half is the joy that comes from following God's will instead of my own. Foster parenting, adopting, marrying Doug, all required me to step out in faith, and to this day, they are in the top 5 best decisions I've ever made.
That brings me to the final great thing about Mother's day. It is a good opportunity to celebrate great things. So Doug and I are excited to announce that we are joyfully preparing for the birth of our 8th child. Our hearts are filled with a feeling of excitement and happiness as we embark on this journey and the kids can not be more excited as long as we "still get to go to Disneyland!"
